About Wilderness Watch
Wilderness Watch is dedicated to safeguarding America's wilderness areas, ensuring they remain protected and free from harmful activities. Their mission is to uphold the Wilderness Act by advocating for responsible stewardship of federal lands, preventing commercial exploitation, motorized use, and development within designated wilderness spaces. The organization focuses on monitoring government policies and actions, promoting awareness, and encouraging public involvement to preserve the integrity of wilderness areas for future generations.
National Wilderness Preservation Website Description
For the website Wilderness Watch we developed a lightweight, efficient website built in WordPress. To ensure the site loads quickly and minimizes potential issues in the future, we used as few plugins as possible. We also redesigned the homepage to meet modern user expectations, focusing on calls to action that help convert visitors into leads or supporters. We implemented a blog setup with three categories—News Articles, What We’re Working On, and Wilderness Experiences—to organize content effectively.

- Custom post type for Action Alerts
- Transferred 874 pages from Joomla to WordPress
- Implemented branded design with fast load times
The final product includes essential features like a contact form, mobile responsiveness, ADA compliance, and seamless performance across modern browsers. We also set up Google Search Console and Analytics to monitor SEO and site activity, ensuring the site continues to perform well after launch. The new site is not only visually appealing but also highly functional, supporting Wilderness Watch’s mission with efficiency and effectiveness.
